Blackout, Typhoon Disaster 〜停電・台風の災害について〜

関東地方、千葉県を直撃した台風から一週間が経ちますが、
未だに、停電、断水の地域があると報道されています。
電気が復旧し、１日でも早く安心して過ごせるよう願います。

The damage of the typhoon was enormous.
台風の被害が大きかった。

 The last typhoon brought big damage to the town.
この前の台風でその町は大きな被害を受けた。

音が出る雷は　　　Thunder
ピカっと光る雷は　Lightning

thunder と lightning を合わせたものが
thunderbolt 
雷電、落雷

I think the lighting stroke somewhere. 
どこかに雷が落ちたと思います。

I really hate thunders or lightnings. I get so scared.
雷が大嫌いです。本当に怖いです。

I don’t like a roll of thunder.
ゴロゴロと鳴る雷がきらいです。

停電は　blackout ですが、　

No lights でもOkです。

他には
・　interruption of electric service
・　power failure
・　power outage
・　down
・　go out
・　break down
・　cut off

といろいろな言い方があります。

The electricity was cut off.
停電になった。

We had a five-hour blackout last night.
昨夜は５時間も停電だった。

The power failed. 
停電になった。

There was power failure because of the thunder.
雷が原因で停電になった。

We need some flashlights to see.
懐中電灯が必要です。

The power is back.
電気が復旧した。

断水は　

NO water でも　stop water 

でも通じますが

・　suspension of water supply
・　cut off water
・　water outage
・　stop the supply of water

We can’t live without water.
水なしでは生きられない。

The water has been cut off.
断水してます。

We can’t use any water because the water supply was cut off.
断水の被害を受けているので、水が全く使えない。

I hope the water supply is back soon.
断水が早く終わることを願う。

自然災害は避けられないと思いますが、
台風の被害で電気も水もない生活は厳しいです。

早く全ての世帯に電気と水が復旧することを願っています。

ここも雷で一時停電した時は
恐怖を感じました。
夜で真っ暗だと不安が増します。

台風の後の雨続きも、
生活状態、農作物にも影響が出ていると思います。
水や懐中電灯の備えは日頃から心がけたいと感じました。
困った時には、助け合いですね。
