＜〜することができない＞

（あなたはあまり上手にギターを弾くことができません）

→ My father can not (can’t) drive a car very well.
（私の父は、上手に車を運転することができません。）
Lisa can swim very fast.
→ Lisa can not (can’t) swim very fast.
（リサはあまり速く泳ぐことができません）

を疑問文に。
→ Can your father drive a car very well?
Yes, he can. / No, he can not.(can’t)
あなたの父は上手に車の運転をすることができますか？
はいできます/ いいえできません

を疑問文に。

はいできます/ いいえできません
can の過去形は could 〜することができた。
⭐️ could は〜することができた。
と言う過去形よりは、
推測する〜だろうね。〜かもしれない、
疑問文で丁寧な依頼文
と言う現在形の意味で使われることが多い（これは会話）
I can go a to America with my family every summer.
→I could go to America with my family last year.
私は毎年夏に家族と一緒にアメリカに行くことができる。
→私は去年の夏、家族とアメリカに行くことができた。
My grandmother can drive a car.
→My grandmother could drive a car last year.
私の祖母は車を運転することができる。
→私の祖母は去年は車を運転することができた。
(私の友人はとても上手にバスケットボールをすることができる）
→ can を be able to に書き換え
→１．否定文に ２．疑問文に
１．My friend isn’t able to play basketball very well.
２．Is your friend able to play basketball very well?
Yes, he is. / No, he isn’t.
（キャシーは、上手に日本語を話すことができる）
→ can を be able to に変えて
Kathy is able to speak Japanese well.
→１．否定文に ２．疑問文に
１．Kathy isn’t able to speak Japanese well.
２．Is Kathy able to speak Japanese well?
Yes, she is. / No, she isn’t.
can で未来を表す時には will be able to
can の未来形はないので will be able to を使います。
I will able so speak English soon.
私はすぐに英語を話せるようになるでしょう。
